derbe guter stoff aus dänemark auf adult crash hier.sehr discharge/victims influenziert.unglaublich gute refrains,die im kopf bleiben und ohrwurmqualität par excellence haben.

was die band von anderne unterscheidet ist ein kleiner dreh am mischpultknopf:auf den vocals liegt häufig ein delay/echo,was den songs eine unglaubliche atmosphäre verleiht.habe ich so nur selten ("raise the curtain" von den jerrys kids zum beispiel) bei klassischem punk/hc gehört.megagut!runterladen könnt ihr euch das album überall,wollte hier nur meiner begeisterung luft machen.

das große www ist doch zu was gut.ich bin letztens über einen bekannten aus den "guten alten zeiten" gestolpert.

dave war sänger von s.t.f.u. aus dem osten der republik und diese und eine meine alten bands haben damals viele konzerte zusammen gespielt.

da hab ich doch direkt die 12" von "sei doch verdammt mal ruhig" auf den plattenteller geworfen und dabei digitalisiert.bestimmt 4 jahre nicht mehr gehört das teil,damals bei einer show in ibbenbüren mit the rites erstanden.

sehr gute 7" von leuten aus san jose in kalifornien die mittlerweile bei zum beispiel in disgust spielen.die band dankt hardcore und essen.na das ist mal ne thanxlist!

songtitel wie "my limp wrist hoodie got me beat up" oder "when keeping it real goes wrong" (dave chapelle anyone?) versprechen einiges und halten das dann auch.

8 songs in 8,35 minuten - 625 records lässt grüssen.

4 junge bengels aus den hiesigen gefilden die gerne cursed hören,den plattenspieler dann aber meistens ein wenig schneller stellen.

an den demoaufnahmen hab ich noch ein wenig gedreht,hört sich jetzt besser an in meiner bescheidenen meinung.

nach dem demo habense sich den alten herren von per koro records geschnappt,der dann keine kosten und mühen gescheut hat(nerdalarm!) deren 12" rauszuhauen.

this one in english again because i need all the help i can get.i'm continuing where i left off with the masakari post...WELCOME BACK TO NERDVANA:

the dudes of HUMMINGBIRD OF DEATH seem to like unusual formats when it comes to releasing their aural assaults of musick.they put out a 5",a 6" and a 10" so far.
but this time they top all of that with a 5,25 zoll floppy disk limitied to 100 pieces which contains only one song.as with the masakari 7" rob and i of course had to order 2 copies haha!

now to all of you : it's pretty hard to find an old computer which still has a floppy disk drive in these days.so if any of you knows how to transfer the included song off of the disk onto a pc let me know.

UPDATE: i got in contact with mike from HOD to clarify -> the song on the disk is NOT "archaic technologies" from the "show us the meaning of haste" lp.it can only be found on the floppy disk.so help me out here!

2 song demo der band,die später auf victory records ein paar alben rausbrachte.das erste hab ich sogar.damals noch auf repel records von patrick kitzel aus dem true blue/iron skull umfeld.da fällt mir grad die golgatha dokumentation auf wdr 3 von damals ein.

scott vogel von slugfest und despair am gesang.geboten wird wie bei scotts vorbands weiterhin metallischer chuggs chugga hardcore aber in schnell und sehr kraftvoll.klar ein wenig prollig aber durch die dreckige produktion ganz weit weg von zum beispiel terror.und nails oder judge sind ja nun auch prollig und die mag (fast) jeder.ist dahingehend eher mit dem ersten walls of jericho album vergleichbar.

der song „kill their past“ vom demo ist für mich die dicke hose version des unbroken spruchs „imitation gets you so far but it kills from within“.

i hope you get what i mean.

wenn ihr im höheren norden seid checkt mal den plattenladen "überschall" gegenüber der friese in bremen aus,lohnt jedemal!

diesmal gabs unter anderem oben genannte 7".diese sehr schöne picture 7" von stalingrad kommt aus dem voorhees/walk the plank/meatlocker/the horror umfeld bzw. wurde auf dem armed with anger label vom voorhees sänger lecky 1996 veröffentlicht.

hier sind die neunziger mal wieder im vollen affekt.
man stelle sich eine mischung aus born against/rorschach und cold as life (!!!) vor und man endet bei stalingrad.eine recht ungewöhnliche beschreibung,aber ich bin auch ein radikaler fucker hahaha.ich habe die einzelnen stücke nicht separieren können,daher gibts jetzt quasi seite a und b im angebot.bazinga!!!

RESURRECTIONISTS - Vom Anfang bis Jetzt

johannes von den RESURRECTIONISTS hat mir selbstloser weise sein exemplar der neuen split lp von eben jenen und LICH aus England zum besprechen überlassen.

da dachte ich mir ich nehm noch das demo von den resus dazu und stelle die ersten und die aktuellen aufnahmen gegenüber.ich denke ich habe aus dem demo das beste rausgeholt.eigentlich hat sich am grundsound der band recht wenig geändert (hagelt jetzt bestimmt contra von der band). die produktion ist natürlich besser geworden.

bei dem aktuellen beitrag der band zur split lp mit lich brüllen/keifen sich die beiden sänger/in ordentlich den frust über die heutige welt aus der seele,dazu kommt das technisch recht versierte schlagzeugspiel und ein bass wie er sich anzuhören hat. grandioses kino der vertrackten art.

zu lich fallen mir als vergleich die großartigen MINE ein.brutaler metalcore der alten (!!!) schule mit einem mördersound.

schade ist,daß das artwork der lp recht dunkel ausgefallen bzw. gedruckt wurde.das sehr schöne cover kommt so nicht wirklich zum tragen.dafür kommt das ganze in einem ansehnlichen gatefold.artworktechnisch hat das RESURRECTIONISTS demo auch einiges zu bieten.das tape steckt in einer gefalteten papierhülle und kommt mit farbigen textblatt.sieht man ja alles bei den fotos.

die split lp ist schön desöfteren auf anderen blogs hochgeladen worden,jedesmal hatte diese jedoch nur einer grösse um die 30 mb,ein bisschen wenig wie ich finde.die songs sind alle getaggt und mit 320 kb/sekunde gerippt.

holt euch diese lp wenn ihr euren hardcore brutal,vertrackt und technisch/textlich anspruchsvoll wollt.hey ho lets go punker haben sehr warscheinlich keinen spaß an diesem sound.

p.s.: mir gefällt beides.

Vorab:
Ich will auch mal wieder. Ich hatte ne Zeit lang NULL Bock zu bloggen. Ich war desillusioniert weil es wirklich alles schon viel liebloser auf anderen Blogs gibt. Das war für mich ne Tendenz daß es eh keine Sau interessiert was wir schreiben. Also wozu meine kostbare Zeit mit Zusammentragen von Hintergrundinfos und niederschreiben von Emotionen und Zusammenhängen bezüglicher Tonträger / Bands verschwenden? Aber egal wo ich hinkomme und mit wem ich mich unterhalte. Sooo viele sprechen mich auf den Blog an und fragen wann es weitergeht. Die meisten verstehen meine Beweggründe das ganze schleifen zu lassen, finden es aber schade. Das boostet mich sehr also scheiss drauf. Hab gerade Schub...

Also SLUMP:
Ich habe das Demo Tape vor über einem Jahr von Olli aus Freiburg bekommen und fand es vom ersten mal hören an schon schade, daß es eigentlich schier unhörbar ist. Mein Tape klingt so unglaublich scheisse, daß ich es nur ca 2x gehört habe, obwohl ich es musikalisch schon sehr sehr super fand. Ich war gerade im Schwarzwald Bike-Urlaub machen und in der Zeit fand ein cooles Konzert in der KTS in Freiburg statt in der neben TOTAL FUCKING DESTRUCTION, LIFE ENDS, IDIOTS PARADE halt auch SLUMP gespielt haben, die live so dermaßen geknallt haben, daß ich mich doch noch mal mit dem Demo befassen musste. Chris hatte mitlerweile versucht das Tape zu digitalisieren um den Sound evtl zu retten, aber er war der Meinung daß es echt unmöglich ist, da noch etwas rauszuholen. Bei einem Gespräch mit Ralf von KINK RECORDS, der das Demo veröffentlicht hat, habe ich ihn auf die Qualität des eigentlich grandiosen Demos angesprochen und er meinte, daß es am Dubbing auf Tape passiert sein kann, daß die Qualität extrem gelitten hat. Er war so nett und hat mir die Master Aufnahmen geschickt, die ich nur schneiden musste und etwas bearbeiten musste. Selbst das Master ist übersteuert aber noch Meilen besser als die Aufnahmen vom Tape.
Also hier die verbesserten Orginalaufnahmen der süddeutschen Brachial-Hardcore-Band . Tonnenschweres Riffing trifft auf viel Geblaste. Dazu viel 90er Screamo, der auch aus Bremen hätten kommen können. Ich hoffe die Band bringt bald mal was neues mit ner ordentlichen Produktion raus und bekommt damit die Aufmerksamkeit die sie verdienen.

MASAKARI - Sleep/Rot 7"

lange zeit kein sehen....keine zeit/lust,blablabla.
und da sich hier eh keiner der runterlader das geschreibsel durchliest kann ich den post ja einfach wieder auf deutsch verfassen.

also aufgepasst:
MASAKARI aus Cleveland,usa haben mich mit ihrem "The Profit Feeds" Album total umgehauen.super produzierter neocrust/dunkler hardcore/wasweisich der sowohl textlich als auch spielerisch sehr vielschichtig rüberkommt.

jetzt hat die band in eigenregie diese 7" veröffentlicht welche eigentlich totaler humbug ist:einseitig bespielt mit nur 2 songs (wovon einer ein cover ist),300er auflage,100 kamen nur in die distros nach europa,4 minuten spielzeit,etching auf der rückseite...also genau das richtige für nerds wie rob und mich haha.

der erste songs "sleep" geht auch grade mal 1 minute und unterscheidet sich doch ein wenig vom früheren werk.es wird dürchgebügelt und die melodien fehlen komplett.nix schlimmes wie ich finde hehe.weiter gehts mit dem "slowly we rot" cover von obituary.die umsetzung ist schon sehr nah am original (stimme/mit glocke,etc.).so richtig verstehe ich die notwendigkeit obituay zu covern nicht aber rob findets super!

ASSHOLEPARADE - Welcome Fucking Home 7"

Assholeparade is a hardcore band from Gainesville, Florida.
Contained on "Welcome Fucking Home" from 2009 are seven shards of thrash fury,both raging and devastating!
The A side is just one continuous butt-whooping.The band rips through one rapid-fire hardcore jam after another.The P side slows it down for a bit with "Much Preesh".The guitars are slower and more ominous before ratcheting back up with the 22 seconds long "Freedom Fighters".
The cover shot is from a music venue in Gainesville called "The Hardback" which got closed down.

Chuck Ragan of Hot Water Music was in this band briefly for one week in 1998.Woohoo...Now go and tell everybody who likes HWM to listen to Assholeparade instead!By the way,they thank INFEST which is always an important thing to do.

7"es with a big hole AND running at the speed of 45 rpm basically suck in my opinion because they are unpractical when playing them on your turntable.Both of these points can be seen spinning this record so I thought let's rip it instantly so it won't get on my nerves again.

All this left aside the demo recording of TOTAL ABUSE smokes big time!
The review of said demo would fit in with some of the early Necros and The Fix or Gang Green reviews in the first issues of Touch & Go fanzine from back in the day.What you hear is what you get:pissed,noisy,sloppy and pretty powerful HC.

I HATE THIS - Same 7"

Two things this band has in common with Unrest : female fronted hardcore band and the way I got in contact with them (listened to it at a friends place and got it through a local mailorder).yeah!!!

Lyricwise pretty heavy topics like recovering from drugs,the human species being compared to a virus or some misanthropic/antisocial feelings are covered.Explanations to each song give the impression that I HATE THIS is pretty serious about their work.I like that a lot!
The music is speed up hardcore(sorta youth crew on 78 rpm perhaps,10 songs in 7 minutes...) which always works for me.

I couldn't seperate some of the tracks because the way they blended into each other was too complicated (for me at least...) but I think you will enjoy them nonetheless.

I listened to this demo when I recently visited Rob so this is basically his post!
The topic here can be summarised under the banner of political Vegan Straight Edge hardcore!
Unrest is a young five piece hardcore punk band from Oklahoma (USA). They play dark heavy hardcore (once called chugga chugga) with a tinge of metal in the vein of Walls of Jericho/Chokehold or Gather/Seven Generations more recently speaking.
Their lyrics are thoughtful and the singing style just awesome,combining throat shredding screams with spoken passages.The first 7"/LP from Walls of Jericho is definetly a comparison here.

Featuring members of Lifes Halt, Annihilation Time, Carry On, Shark Attack, and Gordon Solie Motherfuckers Knife Fight from California,USA put out some fast and fierce in your face hardcore in the vain of NA meets Negative FX meets SSD (no kidding).
They started in 2002 and still exist until this day.After their "Crisis" LP not much did happen for the band until they lately released another 7" named "Isolated".Also check out their first 2 7"es!Beside this there are some xtra compilation tracks floating around.
Lastly the Nihilstics cover is only featured on the demo.The other tracks also appear on the first 7".The rip is from the original tape not the "Out of Print 2002-2004" CD.

I THE UNLORD is a band from my hometown which i sadly couldn't see at their latest appearance with Ceremony here in Münster due to my work shifts...
I closely listened to their demo from 2009 for the first time some days prior to the show after it collected some dust on my harddrive for several months and it basically blew my socks off!!
I The Unlord was formed in June 08 and created its own downtuned and brutal mix of new-school hardcore influenced by heavyweights such as Crowbar,Disembodied or Acme.
If you get compared to Disembodied or Acme you really should have your shit together in my book but in this case it fits.

T-34 - Premium Hardcore LP

Because the folks of the infamous Mafia Message Board are getting on Robs and my nerves I agreed to digitize the T-34 LP and upload it here.Even the tank obsessed bandmembers don't have mp3's of the songs haha.Living in Hannover (Hangover...) in Germany seems to be pretty boring because there are so many band popping up from there: November 13th, Images, Toxic Avenger, Cave Canem, Piazza Dropout, Kids of the Black Hole,....

Well the usual scenestars deliver 13 tracks in the vain of Deathreat with a singer who (despite his appearance in reallife) vocally could be a mix between the singer of Harm's Way and a construction worker hahaha.

The title of the LP is some sort of inward joke from the mafia mob,don't ask...For the last info the liner notes to the ludolf-esque lyrics are pure poetry.Read them and take them to heart (not beeing serious at all)!

MOUTH - Demo 7"

The 4 blokes in MOUTH trash out 4 some short blasts which could basically be labeled as "your average youthcrew sound" meaning their musical approach.What sets them apart from this style is their singer,their pissed off deliverance combined with a thrashy production (i mean that in the most positive way!) and last but not at all least the speed at which they are playing.The songs on this platter can be compared to the NEEDLES Twisted Vision 7" and the NO DICE demo 7" in my humble opinion.Check them out if you care.

There only seem to be 200 copies floating around,mine is 131/200.I got it from Crucificados Records so visit the homepage for copies.

There are a bunch of bands from England currently getting their shit out there like Closure,Torn Apart or Bonestorm which are interesting so go do your studies.On this matter also check Crucificados for the 2x7" release which features all the mentionend bands.
I did some twists to the original recording,call me the electric wizard...It's still trashy but less muddy aka more power for your listening pleasure in my eyes.

MVBT - Demo CD

MVBT stands for MAKUA VALLEY BLAST TEST.(the makua valley in the state of hawaii is said to be the mythic birthplace of the hawaiian people.from the second half of the 1900 century on it was and still is a training ground for the us army).but now back to the band.

the band consists of two dudes with a drum machine of whom todd contacted us if we could feature them of here at mosh eisley headquaters.

so with this recording you get 9 songs of MAN IS THE BASTARD worship with "only" a highly distorted bass,a vocalist and a drum machine.

i like the stuff but already pointed out to todd that in my humble opinion a guitar would suit the band pretty well.the songs are mostly in the midtempo range,the vocals are pissed off and the recording of the drums is loud.the guys seem to like a lot of the classic PV stuff and it shows in their delivery.the demo is pretty uncompromising in it's approach,thats what i like about it.
at times it's hard for me to understand what the bassplayer is doing because he plays some more complicated/off the hook shit on his instrument.not a bad thing in my book!

I came across COP DE FONA because they needed some tour help and checked them out.

They list zero boys,cicle jerks,poison idea,bad brains,minor threat,crucifix,ripcord,raw power,negazione,dead boys,black flag,mob 47,void,reagan youth,black sabbath,extreme noise terror,stark raving mad,discharge,deep wound,spermbirds,mdc,ssd,infest,negative fx,negative approach,jerry's kids,the freeze,scream,heart attack,crass and poison idea as their influences.
There you go...

As far as lyrics go Bernat of the band told me: "The lyrics are about lot of things,home education, capitalistic companies, about tachycardia, about the individual in society...i don't know. about what surrounds us."

About the picture of the backcover he told me:"You're not the first who ask us about that back cover...It's just a sexual act. sex is a taboo among the anarchist punks. they get shocked. I guess we wanted to play with this.There's no special reason."

Call this a cliffhanger haha.I think Yellow Dog Records still has some copies left.They also released their latest 7".

Raw and fast Hardcore again...Martin of Los Crudos/Limp Wrist on the mic here.Look Back And Laugh also comes to mind.
It gives me goosebumbs that you can always come back to the good old hardcore stuff.This formula still works (think it always will).The spinner was released in 2007 on Martins Lengua Armarda Label.

TRAINWRECK - Same 12"

I visited a concert last wednesday.TRAINWRECK and RESURRECTIONISTS played.Both bands really surprised me but TRAINWRECK really ruled my world this evening.I felt overrun by a train (haha!) from the moment they started their set.

For me it was like i could let go of all the stress I've been in the last days and feel at home.It was a feeling of being relieved and somehow cleansed.This shouldn't sound too pathetic/melodramatic/emo here but for me it was an important concert.

Combine elements of HIS HERO IS GONE,URANUS,PERTH EXPRESS,ZANN,a shot of UNBROKEN/BOTCH/COALESCE and a huge wall of sound and you get this monster.

The last song is a cover by HHIG and it suits them well.Sadly it only appers on the cd version and is not included in the 12".Some of the vinyl comes in a nice clear colour which you should be on the lookout for if you care about such things...

These guys also have connections to bands like THE 244 GL and GLASSES so check them out.

I did some spins on the original mix,I think it sounds better and less overdriven now.

CROSSED OUT - Bootleg 7"

This Crossed Out Bootleg 7" includes the self titled debut and the tracks of the Split 5" with Drop Dead.It looks like the debut 7" from A to Z.No difference in the artwork section beside the crossed out (ha!) matrix can be found.God perhaps knows why the bootlegger included the tracks of the 5" without mentioning them...
One of the originals who shaped the so called PowerViolence genre with their brutal and mean music. I won't write much more about this band.Classic stuff!

SHREDDER - Revolter 7"

Fast and vicious hard/fastcore (10 songs in 5 minutes) with some blastparts thrown in for some good measure and a fierce vocalist who kills.
They change a lot between really fast hardcoreparts and the before mentioned blast/grindparts not unlike THE NEIGHBORS did on their LP.Until now everything works out great!

Their lyrics are a bit strange singing about overweight people or horror movie related stuff,makes me think of VOORHEES or OUT COLD.

The order of the songs for side B was a bit mixed up,I fixed this.
Oh yeah SHREDDER are from belgium,didn't expected but definetly appreciated.
The label rooster of their home Holy Shit! Records also features bands like Vogue,Black Haven or Reproach.

COKE BUST

If you didn't already heard about this band let me introduce COKE BUST to you:

Guys from Magrudergrind and Sick Fix speed up more traditional sounding hardcore until you have some sort of Fastcore approach.They list bands like Infest,Heresy,SSD,Youth of Today,Faith,DRI or Ripcord as their influences.From now on nothing can go wrong haha!
I hear a lot of Ceremony,Wasted Time or Blank Stare in their songs for more recent outfits.

They released a Demo 7" (Headcounter Records),the "Fuck Bar Culture" 7" (Third Party Records),the "Circle of Violence" Tape (self released for the 2008 US Tour) and the "Lines in the Sand" LP (Six Weeks Records) until now.

DURANGO 95 - Destroy.Fuck You

Some local stuff from the early millenium here.A friend of mine asked if I could digitize this LP (their first on Bushido Records) and so why not make a short post of it.Nostalgia in full affect here...
Durango 95 were a great band from my hometown which lasted from 1999-2004.Guys from Enfold/The Now Denial played in this outfit.
Check them out if you care about great uptempo sort of anthemic punkrock.

GET DESTROYED - Burnt Offerings 7"

Yeah I'm floored once again.If you ask Rob (see the Punch post) I don't like any new music AT ALL.I must admit,there is some truth in there but stuff like this Get Destroyed 7" gets me going on again about short and fast noise.
There is a massive bass/guitar sound,a real raging singer and enough breaks to do a lot of damage.Beside this the songs structures are pretty unpredictable.It's thrilling to listen to the songs and to not know what will happen next.These guys don't seem to be into your average verse - chorus - verse thing at all.
All the songs are perfectly executed pieces of over the top stop and go madness.It's like Running for Cover do a wrestling match with Mindless Mutant and god knows who wins!
Ah by the way,this is just some rambling (no downloads included)...so if you get bored here find the songs somewhere else or - even better - go out and buy this fucker.

CHRIST ON A CRUTCH - Crime pays when pigs die LP

I had forgotten about this band for some time but their song "fish people" stuck in my head and lately surfaced again.It's your normal anti religious/church song with an emphasis on the abortion theme.The thing here is that the vocals are so pissed of and over the top it struck a definite nerve here.They remind me a little bit of Pissed Happy Children.

I did some research and found out that members of this band carried on in the band Sunny Day Real Estate...What a surprise!!!Here's an interview exerpt from Nate Mendel who used to play in COAC:

I used to get really excited when I’d come here. I’d want to check out D.C. Space, and all the places I’d heard about growing up. Those are my legendary venues—for some people it’s like Madison Square Garden or whatever, but for me it’s like the 9:30 Club and places here in D.C. that I would see on flyers and hear about Lungfish playing or whatever. Those were the places that you would worship like you do when you’re younger—temples of music.I was in a punk rock band from Seattle called Christ On A Crutch, just as we started doing Sunny Day.

COAC was sort of winding down, and I was finding myself disillusioned with super-aggressive, political hardcore. Not so much the music, but we’d just done a tour in Europe playing squats, and it was kind of a wake up call for me that I was kind of over that. And we’d just started doing Sunny Day at that point in time.But as far as musical influences up to that point it was very much kind of standard-issue American hardcore. I was really into it for a long time, and that music made a lot of sense to me. I was very passionate about it. Especially things coming out of Washington, D.C., the Dischord stuff. That was when people started to turn themselves away from politics and into their own heads: “Let’s make music that’s passionate and means something, and is authentic...“.I thought that was a good path to go from being explicitly political to being more personal about lyrics.

And also music started to change at that time too. The people who were playing hardcore got to be better musicians, and started to bring in other influences, and counter-point melodies, and things like that. That’s where I was coming from.

Ah and at the end is a cover by the "Man in Black" and his classic "Folsom Prison Blues".Nice one!
There are some cracks in the first song which i couldn't erase.Sorry for that...If anyone has got a better sounding version send it this way.To be honest,the intro sort of sucks.It's way to long and has too many different parts which don't fit together in my opinion.Whatever,the rest of the LP is really cool so ignore me bitching around......

UPDATE:

I deleted the old version of the rip because there was a mix up in the order of the songs i discovered recently.So I corrected that and uploaded a new version.56 people already downloaded the first version and didn't seem to mind.Oh well...

I only went to a handful of shows this year including a Cro Mags show with Jon Joseph on vocals,Craig Setari on Bass and Macki on Drums.This one was just great,people flying everwhere and all the "Age of Quarrel" hits performed awesomly by these oldtimers hehe.

Another great show was Amos (the imperator of pop) in Osnabrück teaming up with Sven from Minion/Mörser to breath life into some music which could have been on the "Thriller" album by Michael Jackson....sounds weird but I really dig it.Go figure!

Geriatric Unit in Venlo definetly was my show highlight of the year (see the xtra post for a short summary of that event).

A letdown was missing Channel 3 (they played first) but arriving just in time to catch SNFU,D.O.A.,The Dickies and the Adolescents at a concert in Düsseldorf...Fuck!

This here is a nice little variation of the "Brain Surgery for Beginners" 7" by CTO and I thought I'd let you know about some more hardcore trivia.

A good friend of mine had this copy,I liked it a lot so we made a trade.
I think both parties are satisfied with the outcome.

I contacted Mr. Colohan for some background informations concerning this special edition.This is what he had to say:

"That was a ltd. cover we did for a show we somehow ended up playing with Earth Crisis. And Gord is the guy from Deranged that put it out. We played this show with coathangers and babies and ketchup all over us. That was our idea of funny. EC was not amused. We were."

Should have been a nice show haha!

NAILS - Obscene Humanity 12"

Currently I'm listening a lot to the Obscene Humanity 12" by Nails from the US.
It felt as if a bomb fell unto this part of the Mosh Eisley headquarter when I first listened to it.
The songs themselves can be found on some other blogs but I really felt the urge to write about them because they massivly struck a nerve here.

Some ex members of Carry On and Terror stear up 7 songs of mostly fast,passionate and fucked up sounding music which slightly avoids the "jock-core/tough-guy" category considering the bands they already played in.

What I like about this band and surprised me is that they don't seem to be interested in getting big or getting somewhere.These 3 guys just let go of all their frustrations and disgust for the ills of society which appels to me on a lot of levels:

No infos about the members beside their names,no myspace site or homepage,just a messed up handwritten lyricsheet,only a few played shows,no fotos and some honest to the point lyrics with which I can identify a lot.The way most of the them are are written remind me a bit of Discharge.They are short and to the point getting the message across as precise as possible.
"Confront them" is my favorite track because of it's direct approach:

Jealous cowards want to see us fail
Don't ever let them see you fail
They'll fight their wars based on lies
Shit on them and their plastic lives
Don't ever let them take what's yours

The overall motto of this 12" seems to be "get in,release anger and get out."
I really like the production because it's heavy as a sledgehammer but at the same time too noisy and ugly to get the attention of a wider audience.This point is proven by a remark on the cool Aversion Online blog.Great!!!
Don't get me wrong,the music is definetly tough as nail,massive and slightly metallic so it could appeal to the jocks in the pit but beside the production the feeling of the lyrics is much too desperate and introverted (a.k.a. "uncool") to be the background music for being an asshole on the dancefloor.At least I hope so...

I added the lyrics to the lyric bit on the right of the page because i think they're that important to me.Get your copy from these recources as some suggestions:

PISSED JEANS - King of Jeans

And now for something completely different again.Well,not really completely but definetly a lot different to the usual joints.
This album by Pissed Jeans (heard of them through the Mafia Messageboard) is a monster of Black Flag/The Stooges/Unsane fuzzed out slow to midtempo ROCK.No punk/metal/hardcore this time fellas.

The songs grew on me every time i listened to them over the last weeks so i thought i'd let you know what goes down in dissonant,offbeat and ugly heavyland today.

Whatever,I'm a little bit astonished that i like this stuff but opening yourself to new stuff is always good if you ask me.Check out my rant about this topic in the FHAKH post if you don't have a life...

One of the few shows I attended this year...
I went there to see them together with The Stupids,Nitad and Citizens Patrol with Rob and his girlfriend and had a total blast.This band is so good it's not even funny anymore!
By the way the microphone stand of the singer Gords was a modified crutch because of a lot of health issues in the band in the last year.

OPPOSITION - Better Days & Bad Advice LP

This Mini LP (8 songs total) got recorded at Salad Days Studio by Brian Mcternan from Battery.It must have been taken place somewhere in the 90'ties of the last century.
The overall look of the layout seems pretty arty with all these pictures of different skies,a landscape,etc...but don't think you will hear some laid back emo music here.

This trio plays an interesting mix of stuff like Burn/Orange 9mm/Kill the Messenger/Shades Apart (considering the a little bit more complicated guitar/bass work.Damn it's the second time i mention this band - i really have to blog their self titled LP...) meaning the combination of traditional faster HC with noisier and more rocking elements.

They somehow manage to throw out a fast hardcore part, then go into some sort of rock part to some more melodic part and all the way back again and all the parts really do melt together to form a song.You could call the music a little bit more matured i guess-it's not your average 3 chord punk/HC (which is great i don't have to extra emphazise).
A lot of thoughts must have gone into the song writing.Not that it's some sort of Dream Theater/Nile/Dragonforce (metal speaking here...) opera but there are a lot of interesting twists and tweaks which show the musical variety.

Again you get all the goodies (320 kbs/sec-pics-IDE tags).I'm such a nerd...

These "a little bit older" dudes in Spazm 151 play straight ahead Hardcore with some bass melodies thrown into the works.
They cover Jerry's Kids on their 12" and like Poison Idea that you know where to put this stuff.For more recent stuff think Kill Your Idols,Out Cold,Violent Society or the Gordon Solie Motherfuckers.

CURBBITE - Same 7"

I was asked if i could upload the Curbbite 7" so i contacted
Karsten of BreakXOut Records if that would be okay.He was fine with it so here we go.Check the other Curbbite post to know what this band is all about and other pseudo-intelligent rants by me.
Like this one:As a small remark the order of the songs on the 7" seem a bit strange.Both first songs sound like intros.So when the second song starts it feels like "Yeah let's fucking go off now" but then another intro starts.Me being picky here again I guess...

UPDATE: Rob told me that the songs sound much too bassy on his stereo system at home.
I did some twists to the original rip and uploaded another version.
Check for yourself which one does the most damage to your ears!

BULLET TREATMENT - The Mistake LP

In Bullet Treatment are no permanent members, founder/guitarist Chuck Dietrich seems to be the only constant.

Beside him Bullet Treatment featured and still features a constantly revolving and ever-changing group of performers.Since the band's inception six years ago the line-up has included over 20 members of for example ONLY CRIME, STRIKE ANYWHERE, THE VOIDS, INSTED, THE BRONX, RISE AGAINST, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, SWINGIN' UTTERS, THE ICARUS LINE and ANTI-FLAG.

It's like the band is some sort of outlet for these musicians to trash around and release some energy in a Circle Jerks/Minor Threat/Adolescents kind of way.
Chuck Dietrich stance on this point: "This is the secret recipe that is BULLET TREATMENT.Everyone's in other serious bands doing their own thing with their own bands, so that's what's cool about doing this, everyone comes in and out whenever they can as their schedules permit.How many bands do you actually know that still have all of their original members? Literally, none of them do. So we just figured if it's going to happen anyway, then we might as well do it on purpose."

For "The Mistake" Matt from THE BRONX was kicking teeth in on lead vocals once again. His vocal definetly fits the music perfectly: Fucking tight, fucking fast, and FUCKING GOOD in my opinion.

For the newest 7″ every song is exactly the same instrumentally while each singer will write and perform their own individual vocal track without hearing any of the other recordings. What an idea...The singers on this record are Johnny from the Swingin’ Utters, Russ from Only Crime/Good Riddance, Thomas of Strike Anywhere, Stza from Star Fucking Hipsters and Chris #2 of Anti-Flag.

DFL - Proud to be CD

Now back to some more recent stuff:

First off DFL stands for Dead Fucking Last.
This 2nd album got released in 1995 on Epitath Records.
But don't stop reading already,no melodic traces like NOFX,Bad Religion or Down By Law can gladly be found here.

Instead your ears wringle with sheer hardcore energy in the spirit of untamed hardcore.20 un-relenting basic and trashy sounding tracks featuring pure angry adolescent driving guitars and vocals are featured on this CD.I don't think that an LP version exists.What a pity...

The songs really sound like the hardcore/punk stuff the Beastie Boys did (Pauls Boutique 7",Aglio e Olio CD,or the "Heartattack Man","Tough Guy","Time for Living" tracks).
"Club stupid" was recorded live in Las Vegas in 1995 and the announcements of the singer sound just hilarious to me:

NEON CHRIST - S/T Double 7" Reissue

Continuing from my first Neon Christ post i lately purchased the reissue of said EP with some xtra goodies on it.
I know the original and even the reissue are already blogged several times.
The intentions of this post are that you can have a look at the artwork of this jammer so enjoy.Beside this I did some editing to the mixing of the tracks and the IDE Tags.
Sadly there is no lyric sheet included but whatever.Go to Killed By Death Records and check out the scan from the original version.

So off to the records (!) :

This reissue on F-King Records from 1990 consists of 2 7"es.On the first spinner we have the so called "Parental Supression" EP, but the 2 first tracks from the original B side are missing.For what reasons I don't know...
Record 2 contains material from 1984 ("Ashes to Ashes" is from the Peace Compilation LP) that's even better than the other 7", 3 ultra fast tracks plus one melancholic love song.
The Cover is a Fold Out jacket in which the 2 7"es rest.Strangely the order of the tracks is different to the original.
The fotos of the singer remind me of the Heresy singer John hehe.

STATUE-Something to say 7"

Here we we have a 3 song 7" which saw the light of day at the end of the so called "youth crew era" in the USA in 1990.
There were some connections to bands like Chain of Strength and Circle Storm memberwise and also in the musical style.

Okay the first song is pretty mellow and melodic (in the vain of the first Shades Apart LP perhaps - I have to listen to this again) but song 2 and 3 pick up the pace and have more of a traditional hardcore structure/approach.
On the later released stuff the band got more melodic and less fast so I sticked to this 7".

It's like Ian Mackaye (in his Embrace days) took some practice sessions with the guys from Inside Out and End to End.A lot of emotions shine through in the vocal department but the speed (not your "all over the top/let's play as fast as we can/fuck it all up" type of fast,more your average upper hardcore tempo) and power are gladly not deglected.

There's also a cd version from Revelation/Ambassador Records floating around which i lately bought.From that i took the 3 song because they sounded better compared to my vinyl rips....buha!Said cd contains 8 songs,5 studio cuts and 3 live songs.
If you ask for my advice (...) the 7" version is way better because beside being on vinyl the other stuff by Statue is more midtempo post rock/quicksandish/emo/indie stuff.

As a small but important remark it seems strange to me to name ones 7" "Something to say" and then include no lyric sheet...At least my copy doesn't have one.Does yours?

SOME RECOMMENDATIONS...

Yo for a quick musical fix check out the 7" es of CURBBITE from Germany and NOMOS from NYC in the States.

The guys from Curbbite live in Bremen and sound like a more metallic version of Left for Dead or Mind Eraser.Not many bands from Germany play this sort of style so this 7" is refreshing and appreciated.
What a nice surprise!
The only hint of the so called "Bremen Style" represented through bands like Acme/Carol/Mörser/Minion can be found in the production.The guitar really creates a massive wall of sound and the bass is niceley distorted.
Only 200 copies were made so be on the lookout and contact Karsten from Break X Out Records!

The Nomos Demo 7" gives you great early 80's hardcore mixing up influences from back in the day to Wasted Time or Career Suicide sometimes even cracking the speed limits of these bands.
MRR says they also sound like Citizens Arrest but I don't hear that.
Definetly good stuff being put out by Deranged Records (like with the Brain Killer Demo 7").

TITANARUM - Spastis Progressivus Aggressiorum 7"

I stumbled over this little spinner while checking the Per Koro Mailorder lateley and was drawn to because it was stated that Kenny Leek of The Neighbors is their vocalist.It did cost 2,50 € so what are you waiting for?

Due to my subjective (how else) opinion that The Neighbors were a suberb band I had to check out this band immediatly.

Kenny really follows the "scream your guts out and your head off" formula again here and leaves no prisoners concerning the health of his vocal chords.Absolutly brilliant work here again.The bitterness,negative outlook on life and the feeling of still being out of step with the world really shines through his lyrics and vocal deliverance.Intense!

I don't know,somehow his desperation gets to me when he screams his mind.It's hard to say or to describe how you are affected by something.Listen for yourself,I can't really put it into the exact words.

The musical side of Titanarum is a little bit slower and "progressive" compared to The Neighbors incorporating some sort of Accused/Tankard-like trash/crossover/metal influences.Especially the guitar work is extraordinary with some more complicated to play melodies,breaks or chord structures including a lot of off beat tempos/changes.

The first song "Aging Quickly" musically is a little different to the ones following because its fast from beginning to end a.k.a. just great.The lyrics to this song are awesome too describing getting older with age but still wanting to kill it musically and the feeling the urge to play fast.

Compared to this song the tempo unfortunaly settles in lower regions in the rest of the songs only sometimes changing into fast gear again.Here the earlierer mentioned progressive part with more of a mid tempo approach takes effect.Don't get me wrong,the songs are still great and some parts even pretty fast.But its not the "full blast till you drop" way like with The Neighbors.Did I mention this band enough now?Can't be!

"Your death,my living" talks about how Kenny earns his living as a coroner."You die,I clean you up and so earn my money to live" could be the motto here.The lyrics are pretty sarcastic and should be taken with a lot of black humor.

Another song ("Muckhead") is a comment on how everyone around Kenny seems to get older,breeds kids (even the wives are thanked for letting the band exist-old guys at work here...),marries,has kids while he is still left alone with only himself to hate.

The 7" was self released by the band in 2008.Like Unbroken,Find Him And Kill Him,The Neighbors (ha!) or Battalions of Saints for some more classic stuff their homebase is San Diego,USA.On their homepage they state that a split LP with Hummingbird of Death is currently in the works.Whoa!

It's demo time in the short,fast & loud categorie (with an emphasis on short) again.After featuring Vaccine you get 5 songs from the US band Free Spirit which clock by in exactly 2:14 seconds.The shortest song is 6 seconds in length.One more second would have been great haha.Get it?!
Everything about this tape(demo title, song titles, layout) might look a little generic but the whole package is definetly on purpose paying hommage to bands like Our Gang or Straight Ahead/NYC Mayhem.
The demo was the first release by Triple B Records and is sold out by now.Damn,I really would like to have a copy of this refreshing tape.
But now the good news:
The guys are supposed to record for an upcoming 7" coming out as a split release on Triple B Records and Lookin'Out Records.I'm looking forward to this!

I know, I know I haven´t been around here for a while. I just didn´t have the time to post here. Now it seems that all the dust has settled I´m free to breath again.
Right now I´m digitizing tons of awesome grind / power violence records. I bought about some hundred records in the last weeks... ;-)

Fast and noisy hardcore this time.Don't act as if you're surprised haha.What did you expect?
Looking at my posts on this blog my taste of music must be pretty clear and i appear to be your generic hardcore dude.

It's true,fast,passionate and pissed off music is what i enjoy the most and what still gets my blood boiling.Hardcore and punk music stayed by my side until today and I can't/don't want to leave all this behind.Pathetic but true...
But as an advice don't limit yourself to only one genre of music.Being open minded and also giving the likes of Unbroken, Disembodied, Deltron 3030, MF Doom, Bolt Thrower, Anthrax, Embrace, Sepultura(old) , Brainoil, Run D.M.C., Grand Master Flash, Kreator, Jay Reatard, A Tribe called Quest, Pharcyde, Johnny Cash, etc. some of your time is rewarding and fulfilling.There is so much music out there!
I once was (and probably still am to some extent) pretty ignorant to other forms of music but that changed throughout the years.

"What the fuck is this guy talking about and what does this has to do with FHAKM" you may ask...nothing really.These thoughts just recently popped into my head.

BLACK MARK - Wrecked 7"

This one sided rager got released on HARDWARE RECORDS as #9 in 2008.Black Mark are suited in the otherwise not so known landscape of Kansas,Missouri.100 handnumbered 7"es in red and 400 in black were pressed.
As with the Wormeaters 7" (also done by Chris Hardware) posted somewhere else on this blog it's in the same style: stomp and go,fast and rowdy.
I reminds me of old Boston Hardcore like SSD or older DYS fronted by the singer of THE FIX.
Whith this comparison is there anything else to do for you but to go out and grab one of the last copies?Didn't think so...

Some sort of a rip off post but with good intentions gorilla biscuits style.I just want to "spread the word" here a little bit.
I found this on the great Zen and the art of Face punching blog where the Vaccine Demo is featured.Thanks for letting us know dude!
I was really blown away by this.5 blistering songs where the longest lasts 0:37 seconds.The music is harsh and to the point with no intros or other bullshit and a singer who must have burbled with a mix of sandpaper and nails.Yes it's that tough a.k.a. just brilliant!
Older guys from Think I care,Orchid and Bucket full of teeth in full affect here.
100 tapes were made which are sadly all gone by now.But the songs should be put on a one-sided 7" later this year on Clean Plate/Red Room Records.I'm really stoked,yeah!!!

Long time no writing...
But after I received a copy of this gem and asked for the permission to put it on this Blog I had to let you know about White Male Dumbinance.

Hailing from the land down under a.k.a. Australia these guys really give you a boot to the ear!They rage through 12 songs of pure,fast and powerful hardcore that leaves me speechless every time i listen to the 7".They do cover cover Infest with "Why don't you" but manage to give the band the actual justice it deserves.Their version is as if a train is rushing through your head and wrecks everything in it's way.Like with the original!
Top Notch stuff from a not so known band which surly deserves your attention!I'm glad that I ran across this.

I got my copy of this 7" from one of the bandmembers but you can also go to Missing Link Records for a purchase.They also worked on stuff for Iron Lung,Agents of Abhorrance or Regulations so you know you're on safe musiacal ground there.

For an attempt at some sort of musical comparison imagine a bastard son of Extortion (not only for territorial reasons),The Neighbors and Lack of Interest I guess.

The name of the band goes hand in hand with their strong anti war/ australian/ nationalist stance commenting on the almost complete extinction and genocide of the aborigines (the original australian inhabitans).
And by the way if the name of the band sounds familiar to you you already have a good taste in music.If not check out B.G.K. from holland.

I bought this and the Hatred Surge/Iron Lung Collab 7" from Deranged Records.
The Collab 7" really fuses the "bands" to form a strong musical unit combining the best moments of both.You really get what you expect here.
Beside the music the 7" also looks great.The cover is some sort of sandwich paper which together with another layer of paper underneath makes the cover complete.It's pretty hard to describe,hunt it down and see for yourself.But be quick,it's already sold out and a second press is on it's way.

The last record on our journey today is the "Isolated Human" 7" from Hatred Surge again.Like on the Split LP with The Endless Blockade (Amy from Despise You) the main man behind this band Alex got together with a female vocalist again.This time Faiza from Faithealer accompanies him and together they deliver 6 serious and hardhitting jams."Fatalist" is my favorite here.But definetly check it out for yourself.

YOUTH OF TODAY - Live in Germany 1989

Here is something for your average Youth Crew Taste (if you like this style...).Despite the fact that I don't like live records that much here is another one:

I came across this tape (yes you read right some people still like this format) including 2 live shows of Youth of Today on their european tour in 1989 cheap so I bought it.
I am really surprised here!The recording is pretty good for my taste.
Both sides are able to capture a lot of energy Youth of Today spread out on their live shows when they were around.All instruments and the vocals are in good balance and especially the drums are listenable (and played faster than on the actual records).

Here are the hard facts:

- side A gives you 12 tracks from the show in Bielefeld on the 18.02.89.
- side B has another 12 songs from the show in Dortmund on the 21.02.89.
- released on Koma Records in a quantity of 200.

What I really like is the fact that none of the songs are doubled,every song only appears once.The announcements from Ray of Today maybe a little bit cliche but to some degree I still believe in some things he points out.
As a bonus the song "One Night Stand" on side A is a song you can't hear on any of Youth of Todays records.It only came out as one of the songs on the Revelation Records sampler celebrating their 100th release.And who buys that sort of thing?!

Personel of From Ashes Rise crank out 15 tracks of stripped down Hardcorepunk in a Deathreat/Talk is Poison/Balance of Terror/Sleeper Cell kind of way.
The tempo is kept pretty moderate,3 participants (bass,guitar,drums) of which 2 share the vocal duties.
A lot of the mentioned bands can also be found elsewhere on this blog. What did you expect?I'm a sucker for this style.
Beside this the fact that this LP came out on Partners in Crime Records also should give you an idea what this will sound like.

This band is no longer in existence aka was "only" meant as a sideproject.So check it out if this got your attention.

DISFEAR - A brutal sight of war 10"

Here is my older Disfear post again.I newly recorded the songs for a better sound quality because I wasn't satisfied with the older outcome anymore:

After listening to their "Live the storm" album for some days straight (check it out,I'm really hooked!) I dug out this older recording.
It's the second output of Disfear after their self-titled single on No Records from 1992 (later being rereleased on Finn/Rödel Records in 1998).Yacoepsae also did their "Krank ist Normal" 7" with Rödel Records.Just in case you wanted to know...

Getting back on track this "album" originally got put out in 1993 as a CD on Lost & Found Records and later also was rereleased this time by Feral Ward as a 10" in 2004.Yes,it's THAT complicated!
These rips come from the 10".The first 4 tracks of this 10"/CD are actual new songs,the last 5 come from the above mentioned first 7".So it's not a real longplayer,more a collection.But a great one indeed!

Imagine Entombed playing Discharge covers.I mean with a name like this and songtitles like "Judgement day" or "Forced to conform" or the title track what do you expect?You get the traditional d-beat attack backed up by a real good production.Disrupt,Disclose,Disgust,Recharge etc. does the talking.
The band came to life in 1989 under the name Anti-Bofors (later changing it to Disfear) and carried on until now sporting ex and current members from bands like AT THE GATES,the already mentioned ENTOMBED,THE CROWN,SKITSYSTEM or THE GREAT DECEIVER.

They evolved a lot lyrically and musically throughout the years but still carry a diy/political agenda with a vision for another world filled with more solidarity between us humans and less consumption/capitalism.To never give up hope in a world as complicated,cloudy and depressive as it looks today.

PUNCH - Demo Tape

I guess Chris is the only person who´s not overwhemled by San Franciscos PUNCH. Their 7" striked like a bomb and everybody´s waiting for the new album on Discos Huelga/625 Thrash which will be released soon!
In the meantime you should check out their 2007 demo tape (Thx to Olli for providing me a copy). Okay the demo only contains two songs that are not on the 7" but who cares? Ultra high speed hardcore thrash with a female singer that sounds so incredible pissed. No long guitar feedbacks here, no sludgy parts, no time to breath deeply here. Absolutely insane stuff. Cool lyrics as well, about veganism and medical improvidence for example.
I´d love to see this band playing live and if you live in Japan you should check them out because they are going on tour there in june! I hope that they´ll come over to Europe some day!!

HUMMINGBIRD OF DEATH - Split w/ PILE OF MAGGOT INFESTED VISCERA

As you know by now I a huge admirer of HUMMINGBIRD OF DEATH. I got in touch with Mike the drummer of HOD and I ordered 2 copies of this split tape and a shirt and he charged me 10 Euros!!! First I thought he made a mistake when he converted the total cost including shipping to Germany into Euros. Everybody over here knows that 10 Euros for a shirt, 2 tapes and oversea shipping a almost like getting a gift. Generally I have to pay almost 10 Euros for shipping when I order an Lp from the states. So I asked him if he´s sure about the total in Euros. He was and I was so very happy about the price. Thanks Mike!! This release is limited to 50 Cd - and 50 tape copies.
Okay back to the music. First off I have to tell you that this file only contains the songs from the HOD side of the tape. I don´t dig the POMIV sound at all. Justin from HOD is also playing guitar in POMIV but I can´t stand their style anyway. I just can´t stand gore grind w/ down tuned gutteral vocals (I guess that what those vocals are called nowadays...).
It doesn´t bother me because the HUMMINGBIRD OF DEATH songs on this tape are so fucking outstanding. Do you wanna know what speed is? This is like a tornado!! Fast as hell and over shortly after it came by!! And like a real tornado it destroys everything in it´s way!! Everything´s on point like a swiss clockwork and well produced. Bingo, it would have been perfect if it have been longer. It´s marginal longer than 3 minutes!!! Before Chris digitized the tape for me (thx bro) I heard the HOD side and rewinded it over and over again. Mike wrote to me that there will be a discography tape very soon an a new full lenght Lp / Cd out in May / June. So stay on alert and have fun with this short appetizer before the next storm!!

NO DICE - Suffer Demo 7"

I was on holiday and beside having some family issues Rob and his girlfriend visited me.It was awesome having them around and spending time with them was much more important than posting records...
Now I'm back in the "normal life" so here you get another cracker:

These 4 ragers originally came out as a demo and got put on vinyl by Max Ward of 625 Records.It's a one sided 7" with a blank b side (the word "blank" is written in the matrix of side b as a hint).He did a better job with this release compared to the SFN demo where he messed up the order of the songs.
But that just a small downer if you look at the discography part of the 625 website.It's just astonishing how much great stuff Max did put out or participated in until this day (for example stuff from Shank/Spazz/Iron Lung/Hatred Surge/Rambo/324/What Happens Next/Fear Is The Path To The Dark Side/Highscore/L'Amico Di Martucci/Mindless Mutant/Trapped in a Scene Compilation/SFN/Final Draft/Parlamentarisk Sodomi...).

Back to No Dice:
They deliver great trashin' Hardcore,the songs are over before you know it.Always a good sign in my opinion.4 songs in 5 minutes from this short lived californian power unit.
What I also like about the band is that beside all the tempo they throw in some "youthcrew parts" and a bunch of heavy breakdowns a couple of times witch give the songs more variety.Beside these infos i don't know shit about his band beside that these 4 crackers knocked my off my feet instantly.The effect is somehow the same as with the Soul Swallower 7".
And to top things off No Dice even have good lyrics attacking abuse in relationships and being a fuck up because of bad parents.I can relate to that (who doesn't...).

Inglewood´s in tha hoooouuuusssseee muthafukka!! FINAL DRAFT are in everybodys mouth at the moment for a good reason. They´re just insane. They just had their breakthrough with their recent 7". Here we have their 1st split 7" with their local homies from APATHETIC YOUTH who don´t even have to hide behind the DRAFT on this record. Well everybody has to hide from the lastest FINAL DRAFT 7" but this is their more decent older stuff. Don´t missunderstand me, this releases is still top notch high speed power violence but it´s more rough, more simple and hectic than the newer stuff from FINAL DRAFT. Make sure to watch out for their upcoming release on Regurgitated Semen records!! I ordered a shirt from the band last year and I can say that they´re really nice and reliable.
Okay let´s flip this little violent bastard: Here we have APATHETIC YOUTH (Do you always have to be apathetic like AxRxMx to share a record w/ the DRAFT?).
Holy moly is there something in the drinking water in Inglewood? Three Chicos fucking shit up!! Angry fast-like-whirlwind hardcore with two pissed singers. It´s not that typical power violence style it has more of a youth crew edge but played on 78 rp/m. Great stuff!!
Grap you skateboard an thraaaaash some shit!!
By the way: I love the rap samples both bands use, it makes the brutal stuff somehow hilarious.

WEEKEND NACHOS - s/t 8"

You might have heard about it, read about it, but have you ever heard the legendary nacho-shaped 8" of everybodies Power violence darlings WEEKEND NACHOS? Only 50 copies have been pressed and sold at the Repos farewell show on 3/29/2008.
This record is one of the coolest items in my collection. Like I said it´s nacho-shaped, one-sided and 8" of pure musical destruction.
Well okay, the 4 songs on this gem have been re-released in a new mastered version on the "This comp kills fascists" (Or "This BOX kills fascists" for the better hung guys like me, haha) on Relapse records, but I ripped my 8" anyway because the songs sound more raw and less clean on this record. You might think that a record, limited to 50 copies only contains outtakes or bad material but you are wrong here. The four songs are really awsome and represents WEEKEND NACHOS as the incredible killer band they simply are! My favorite song is Priorities which is perfect to sing along and has a stunning break-down: `Blowing off friends every day, just to get fucking laid. Fuck that!!!!´ I could write how great WEEKEND NACHOS are but if don´t even heard them yet you don´t deserve my effort of writing a describtion because we already wrote plenty of postings concerning the NACHOS.
Have fun with the most raw recordings I know from WEEKEND NACHOS. Oh and by the way: There´s some sizzling noise in some songs Chris and I weren´t able to filter out, sorry.

EXTORTION - Terminal cancer 7"

As you know, this is the recent EXTORTION 7" called Terminal cancer. The reason why I ripped my copy for you is that it seems that many people didn´t get their hands on this. So a lot of people who missed out asked me to rip my copy, that´s why I post a new record here, something I actually refuse. You might have heard that this EXTORTION stuff is different! They wanted to create something completely raw so they recorded these song on a Yamaha MT3X in a room. Check out the effect yourself. So raw and pissed like they´ve never sounded before (exept for their demo tape). Holy crap this 7" sounds so filthy and harsh. That´s what I needed after their disappointing split 5". Too bad only a few people were able to buy this gem!! I don´t even know why. Maybe it´s because of a bad distribution, SHORTFUSE records don´t even have an online presence and WAY BACK records don´t even mention attendance on this release on their homepage! I got my copy from Painkiller records but I was very lucky. Their copies were sold within days. Maybe there are 400 copies left under the bed of the head of SHORTFUSE records, I don´t know. I wish you all the best to get a copy of this amazing EXTORTION record. Check it out, you´re gonna love it!

George one of the singers of INTO THE GORE wrote me about Mosh Eisley and asked me if I could post the last Cd of his band. I am a nice guy and Chris and I strongly believe in the Network of friends attitude so I agreed right away without even knowing INTO THE GORE.
When I received the Cd some days ago and gave it a try I was simply blow away!
I wanted to post the Cd to do him a favour at first but now I love to post it because it´s simply amazing. Their sound is described as death grind, but that´s too trivial to me. The guitars are very hardcore-ish almost punk-styled. Okay the drums sound kinda metal but I´d call it just very fast hardcore, filled with tons of blast beats and crunchy breakdowns. Two singers who do the high / low pitched vocals job. Really brutal shit!!!
Unfortunately the band split up after the tragical fatal motorcycle accident of Michale Alexander their co-founder, guitar player and high pitched singer. I never really realized the music scene of Greece but if there are more incredible bands like INTO THE GORE I should definately check it out. The Cd comes in a very cool digi pack, very extensive. George told me that he´d love to find a record label who´d release this album on vinyl. If somebody could help them out with the idea of releasing it on vinyl please get in touch with them through the myspace profile. Fasten your seat belts and check out this intense heavy band!!

If you didn't already have definetly check out the new 7" from Mind Eraser called "The prodigal son brings death" out on Youngblood Records.It really kills!
After a small letdown with their "Concious Unconcious" LP this 7" gets the adrenalin pumping again and is as great as their 2 other LP's "Cave" and "Glacial Reign".The "Glacial Reign" album is also featured on this blog so go search for it if you don't own it like you should.

The problem with the "Conscious Unconscious" for me was that it was told to be a 2 song LP but infact Mind Eraser just didn't cut the recording into single songs and continued with another bunch of riffs after some noise interludes.
They don't repeat many off the riffs so to me there are more than 2 songs on this record.It gets unmemorable after a while and you get lost in the music.
Beside this all the "songs" on this LP were pretty slow.This formula somehow reminded me of Corrupted but the songs do pick up some pace from time to time.

So I thought why get a 2 song LP when you can have a 10 song 7" haha!
Get your copy,it's selling rather fast.The preorder editions of this 7" were sold out in a couple of hours so that was pretty crazy...

Idle Hands is a young band with not so old members from my hometown which plays quality music in the vain of old Buzzcocks or The Wipers.Awesome melodic and sing along kick ass stuff!Check out the song "Eternal Isolation".Soooo good!Even Rob likes this haha.
The members of Idle Hands also play in bands like Press Gang and The Missing Shadows.
If you know them good for you if not check them out.The local skatepunks from Three Chords Records put this 7" out as #3 in late 2008 and it's already sold out.

STRONG INTENTION - Extermination Vision 10"

Knock,knock,14 brutal and fast tracks with dual vocals going from Grindcore to Powerviolence to Fastcore and all the way back here!
I thought some sicker shit would be appropriate after my last posts hehe.
Strong Intention came to life in 1993 and evolved remarkable from a sort of New York Hardcore band like Agnostic Front or Breakdown (shown on the demo,self titled 7" and split 7" with Everybody Gets Hurt) and got faster and faster with time also releasing another split 7" with Y from Germany and a full length on Six Weeks Records.
They are a pretty active band concerning touring and shared the stage with the likes of Extreme Noise Terror,D.R.I.,Phobia,Disfear,9 Shocks Terror or Misery Index.
On this slab of vinyl they present themselves as a 4 piece and fuck shit up musically (at least for me...) and lyrically.Mix Hellnation and Siege if you want an idea.
Jeroen from Coalition Records in the Netherlands put out this 10" in a quantity of 1000 pieces.Me likes.

OUTLAST - Positive Hardcore,Positive Youth 10"

Outlast from Sweden here again.
At first I wanted to post their "Conspiracy" Demo (released on the singer Henriks Label Uprising Tapes as #3) but the sound of that recording was just too bad.
So instead you get their awesome "Positive Hardcore,Positive Youth" 10".The title might sound a little bit cliche but the band was really authentic in their views so that's okay in my book.
I remember seeing Outlast in Münster,Germany a long time ago.They drove all the way from their hometown Linköping in Sweden for that 1 show.And it was worth it!
At that show i bought my Outlast hoddy which I still own today.
Great band,great memories!
The picture of this 10" was taken at this concert and the show itself was great.The band and the audience really interacted and created a really cool atmosphere.The title of this 10" gets the point across pretty good for that evening.

NEVER HEALED - LP

With a band naming itself after a Heresy song what can go wrong?!
But don't be misleaded here.With the name the comparison also ends.
Never Healed plays midtempo hardcore which took some inspirations from punk rock or even oi as well ( just like with Negative Approach perhaps) considering the songwriting.
Members of Look Back and Laugh,Mindless Mutant,Yaphet Kotto and Lights Out team up to deliver some serious rocking Hardcore.
The singer (guitar man Casey from LBAL) pushes the band into the hardcore direction nevertheless because of his really brutal voice.In this context his vocals really differ from the at times pretty "melodic" music creating a real intense feeling.
The LP got recently repressed being originally released in 2006 on Parts Unkonwn Records from Canada.It's actually pretty short for a LP (also running on 45 rpm) but "quality over quantity" is the motto here.

VA - TO LIVE A LIE Three year sampler Cd

I already wanted to post this compilation some time ago, but for some reasons I never managed to do so. The reason why I kick myself up the arse to post this Cd at last is that Will from TO LIFE A LIE records seemd to have some problems encoding it with a proper rate. So here it is, encoded with 320 kbs. Like you´ve properbly realized this is a TO LIFE A LIE label sampler. TLAL doesn´t need any introducion of course. This Cd feature the bands TLAL records has released records / cds of, within the last 3 years (must have been 4 already - I´ve ordered my copy of this in August 2008). This comp features some of the most famous acts in extreme music but on the other hand it contains bands even I never heard of [/cocky mode]!!! "Creme de la Creme" meets "give them a try", that what I call perfect mix. It even means something personal to me, because on this compilation I heard FINAL DRAFT for the very first time, who became one of my favourite bands! Thx to this cd.
51 songs on a pro-pressed cd for only 1.50$!! Hello? Why didn´t you order your copy already? What you get are songs of FINAL DRAFT, P.L.F., BLOODY PHOENIX, MAGRUDERGRIND, MESERINE, PROLETAR, UNHOLY GRAVE, FxPxÖx, AGATHOCLES, XBRAINIAX, GODSTOMPER and so on and so on!!! All songs have been released on TLAL records yet, so what? Do you have all the TLAL releases? Generally I hate cd-only releases but I don´t dare to complain for only 1.50$ a copy.

IN DISGUST - Split w/ GODSTOMPER 7"

Attentive readers of this blog already know that I´m a great admirer of IN DISGUST. Since I received their 10" called "Reality choke" I´m totally in love. Here we have a killer team up and it´s more of a team up then any other split records. This not one of thoses split releases where each band has its own side. The songs were recorded together live @ radio KFJC. Two bands, one room, one session. That means both bands alternate. The set beginns with a coin-tossing game and then all hell breaks loose.
This split 7" is called "Audio terrorism". A title that fits perfectly: This is really harsh, noisy grind violence that will terrorize the ears of weakling. Promising, isn´t it? :-)
Even GODSTOMPER, a band that normally doesn´t kick me sound insane here. Nasty grindcore with some electronical background noises. The band has been around for years and you properbly own some records of them yourself. They released tons of (split) releases. [By the way, you can download their "Anarchy USA" HERE but beware: it´s just experimental, electronical low-fi beats / noise. No grindcore here at all!!]
IN DISGUST do what they are best at: Incredible brutal grindcore that takes no prisoners. They recently released a discography Cd on Torture Garden Picture Company containing the 10" all 3 split 7", the demo and 2 unreleased songs! Can somebody send me the 2 unreleased songs? I have all their other releases. Just need the unreleased stuff. Thx!
This 7" has no tracklist and there are almost no breaks between the songs, so I just tagged this 7" just into side a (started by IN DISGUST 5:21 min) and - b (beginns with GODSTOMPER 6:00 min). Seperating the songs would have disempowered the recording anyway.

HATRED SURGE - Con artist / lack of intelligence 5"

Here we have the highly treasured 5" of the famous one-man grind project HATRED SURGE. It contains only 2 songs from 2005 that were meant to be on some compilations. It seems that theses comilations never saw the light of day so Alex Hughes the man behind HATRED SURGE deceided to release them as a 5". Basically this is more of a collectors item because it contains only 2 song and even one of them is a DISRUPT cover song. The sound quality is moderate, kinda rough. I like their own song "Con artist" best because it has a lot of power and the female vocals make it more diverse. Released by Rescued from Life records, the label who already brought you killer releases by KILL THE CLIENT, PLF, SYPHILIC VAGINAS, NOISEAR and so on and so on.
Clear wax, limited to 100 copies, already way to expensive to get a copy, so go download it.

Today I received the new PARLAMENTARISK SODOMI Lp called "De Anarkistiske An(n)aler". OH MY GOD!!! I already thought that the demos were ultra brutal and tight. But the new album takes it even one step further into extremity. It sounds so pissed, so angry. The music is so tight and well arranged. No just simple grindcore, it´s really diverse! The production is so good, not overproduced like some Relapse bands, but´s it´s a high quality production that fits to the music perfectly. Everything´s done by a single man. That´s what I call DIY!! Everything seems perfect about this Norwegian death machine!
Though I know that MØLLEN the man behind PARLAMENTARISK SODOMI likes the idea of getting records at blogs, I´m not going to upload this new album here yet. Well, I´m going to ask Steven Crucificados who, along with 625 Thrash has released this record what he thinks about downloading it here.
I want everybody to buy this lp anyway!! I mean everyone of you. Not just because it features one of the best grindcore sounds recently, MØLLEN is such a nice guy and the labels are worthy the support.

REPERCUSSIONS - No Peace E.P.

I stumbled over this awesome band through the great Fugitve Equilibrium Blog.
Batguano posted the Repercussions 11 song 12" E.P. in the beginning of january so after some research I went to my local recordstore which gladly did have a copy of this 7".So this is sort of a spin off post.
The songs on this 7" are all in the same vain as the stuff from the 12".Personel from Talk is Poison,Deathreat,No Signal Lost and Cold Sweat burst out 8 pieces of pure and unpolished HC/Punk which have a lot in common with the output of the already mentioned bands.
Another comparison for Repercussions could be Boxed In from the U.K.I really dig this stuff!
The 7" was put out by Feral Ward (a member of Tragedy runs this) in 2007.
So visit Heartfirst Records or Green Hell Records (if you are from Germany) and pick it up.

How cool is that? I just received one of the eight testpressings for the HUMMINGBIRD OF DEATH - Goatmeal 5". This testpressing has the size of a 7". It has a personalized cover and inner sleeve. My copy is # 3 / 8.
I tell you what: It´s sound exactly like the 5"! ;-) But I love it anyway!

LOOK BACK AND LAUGH - I

This US hardcore/punk band sadly seems to be defunct now.
They put out some great records on Lengua Armada (run by Martin from Los Crudos/Limp Wrist) and Deranged Records in the nearer past.
Expect raw as fuck mid/uptempo hardcorepunk from these trashers.What a fierce sounding singer!Their song "Run silent,run deep" is a real rager.Yes!Check the band out here.
This 12" was put out by the band itself on Look Back And Laugh Records as #1 and really looks great.
The record sleeve is a thick cardboard with the printing done via silkscreen in a nice black-silver-brown combination.The back of the sleeve is not going all the way up (like with the Acrid/Left for Dead Split) so you see the inner record jacket with the lyrics directly printed on in multicoloured.Nice idea!

324 / SLIGHT SLAPPERS - Split 7" flexi

This flexi 7" still leaves me speechless. Imagine one of your favourite bands releases the worst record ever!!! Right, this is such an enormous pile of shit!! 324 are my favourite japanese Grindcore band! They have released so much outstanding releases except this one!! You know the sound of 324 for sure, don´t you? Well imagine your neighbour is listening to a 324 live set he recorded with his mobile phone and you are taping this sound with a tape recorder that `s 30 years old. After that recording session you´re putting this tape in the washing machine. After that procedure you are listening to that tape on one of the 80s walkman with extremely crappy headphones. Can you imagine that?
To me it´s a crime putting such horrible crap on a record. The shitty sound of a flexi disc has it´s own part in this shame! Further on there are more things to complain about on this output. There ard NO informations about the 324 side. NOT EVEN A TRACKLIST. There are 2 song on the 324 side (I guess) that I didn´t even cut into parts. I had enough trouble to digitize this shit. My turntable seemed not to realize that there is music on this record... I tried to make the best of it, haha.
Don´t get me wrong: Is ain´t the first 324 ever which they recorded at a rehearsal session. This record was released in 2000. After the band has released such awesome records like the BOUTOKUNOTAIYO album or the SOULWINTER 7". Worst letdown ever!!
The split side of this flexi 7" fits perfect to the crap on the A-side!
Do SLIGHT SLAPPERS really think that this song is funny? At least I know the name of the song. It´s called "Vanette" so the cover says. On the disc it´s called "Banette". The song is labeled as `crazy kids version´, I didn´t pay attention to that but then I realized that the vocals are done by a young child somehow skewed.
Or by some adult, you cannot say because of the voice effect, don´t know, don´t care. One thing I can say: This sucks major time!!! Needless to say that the sound is as shitty as on the 324 side. According to the internet this record was given away at a 324 / SLIGHT SLAPPERS show. My advise: Go download it, give it a listen as long as you can take it, to hear what it´s all about and then delete it because it´s a waste of disc space. Well maybe some of those fucked up noise freaks are into it...
I don´t understand why HG:Fact released such a waste under their flag.

GORDON SOLIE MOTHERFUCKERS - Power Bomb Anthems Vol. 1

Tony Erba from Face Value (the band with one of the most horrible drumbeats),9 Shocks Terror (couldn't get into them either),H100's (this band i like) and Cheap Tragedies lately (too melodic and slow for me) in full effect here again.He must be 100 years old now!
The songs and sound of GSMF can be described as pretty wild in my eyes.The band got banned in a lot of clubs in Cleveland because of going insane on stage including the usage of chairs in an not so usual way (remember Haymaker!?).
I tried to get Rob into liking this band but it didn't worked hehe.
This 10" came out on 625 Records as #40.The story behind this release is this:
Max Hirax toured with Capitalist Casualties I don't know when and they played a show together with Gordon Solie Motherfuckers.
GSMF was just starting as a band but blew Max that much away that he offered to do this 10" right away.

They have another 7" out.First I said that it's not as good as the 10".I was wrong and stand corrected!The 7" also rules.I'm listening to it right now and it smokes.

Sidenote:
Every band who quotes 7 Seconds ("regress no way") is beyond judgement in my eyes(uhhh another qoute)!

LOADED FOR BEAR & BIZARRE X - Split LP

Like promised here is the Split LP from Loaded for Bear from Chicago in the USA and Bizarre X from Germany.

Bizarre X is a just 2 guys who are doing really well with their approach concerning the fact that they "only" have a drumset and a bass guitar.
Look at the enclosed picture to know their stance on that subject hehe.Their lyrics are thoughtful and socially aware so it matches their split partner very well.
The band exists for something like 14 years and have released numerous records in this timespan so these guys must be pretty dedicated in bringing out a lot of drum/bass madness.

- We at the headquater already made it clear that we don't like blogs which only list a downloadlink and show no dedication towards making good posts which does the music the actual justice it deservs.basically these blogs can go to hell!
We do it because we think ist's important to support the music AND the message!

- Like always the trend of the hardcore and punk community to eat itself up.With this I mean the intolerance of all the little subgenres which seem to exist.Crust,Punk,Hardcore,Powerviolence,Youth Crew,Old School,New School,Sludge,D Beat,Fastcore,whatever.It's still the same (at least to me) so get along and work together.
I better stop because I'm drowning in PMA now...

THE CONTROL - 10 ''

With this record it was like this:

Looked through my records,found this 10",put it on my turntable and got blown away.I pretty much forgot about this band.Not good...
It came out on +- Records around 2000 if I remember correctly.It's got a powerful bass sound and a great screaming singer.The length of his scream in "Head and Shoulders" is unreal.It must be fake hehe...
I advice you to find this 10" if you want your core raw,fast and to the point.But beware if you want a top notch production here.
There are some cracks left over which I couldn't erase.I personally like this because it somehow suits the songs well (no it's not THAT bad).
Shirts spotted by Void and Discharge give you a hint of what to expect.
The band later put out another 7" on Reflection Records from the Netherlands which in my opinion isn't as good (meaning more melodic) as this rager here.But be on the lookout for the 7" for the song "Poker Face" alone.

I just took my girlfriend to her company christmas party. So Cash and me stayed home alone and deceided to throw a stag party with just the two of us. That meant frozen pizza, cat food and lotsa good music.
While I was stitching my INSECT WARFARE patch on my jacket, Cash decided what to hear.

So here´s a summing up of what we heard tonight while sitting on the couch in underpants, belching an farting and stitchin on patches like my mom did when I was a child (the stitching, not the farting, hahahaha).

I thought we could have started with something more mellow, but Cash called me a sissy an put on the first 7" of Inglewoods finest FINAL DRAFT. What a killer, definately one of the best new power violence bands!! ("Straight from Inglewood, and you know that it´s all good...") The only problem is that this 7" is over too soon, but I know about an upcoming split 7" with one of my faves BRUCEXCAMPBELL and a full length album, both on RSR, the best label around!

Okay Pizza´s ready. Goodamn I love Restaurante pizza Funghi.

When I proposed the INSECT WARFARE / AGORAPHOBIC NOSEBLEED Split 5" Cash was like "Now you´re getting reasonable! I launched the A-side and I thought "Wait a minute, this ain´t AG. NOSEBLEED nor IN. WARFARE" because AGORAPHOBIC NOSEBLEED sounded so inconvenient, so unfamiliar. But it´s definately them alright.

Shortly after the 5" we went on with the recent KILL THE CLIENT Lp called "Cleptocracy". This record is the best example that a good record player (combined with a good stereo) sound better than even the best digital file. I heard this as Mp3 files first and I thought it is an awsome album. But when I got the record last month it kicked me off my feet. Holy mother of everything that´s good and pure. This album is sooo fuckin hard. One of the best grindcore albums in years!! Some people find it even "too hard!!!" Think of a mix between PIG DESTROYER (Prowler)and LOOKING FOR AN ANSWER ( Extinction)with a high end production (no, not over produced!)What a killer!!

I just opend a bottle of alcohol free white wine! I love the taste of this decadent shit!

For the next record I had to deviate Cash so I gave him some treat. While he was eating I put on the "No laughing matter" 12" of the famous anarcho punk band ANTI-SYSTEM. I especially like the B-Side because it contains the smash hit "Aninmal welfare", though I like the version of this song with their first line up the best!

Okay the stitchin was almost done and I wanted to watch some episode of LITTLE BRITAIN but first I wanted to end the musical journey with somethin extrem. I put on the IN DISGUST "Reality choke" 10". In case you don´t know them already, they play very harsh noisegrind like THOUSANDSWILLDIE (Who ripped me off btw, but I will tell you later about theses assholes). Even Cash admitted: "Holy fuck, this is some intense shit!!!" IN DISGUST rules!

Normally I wanted to watch DVD then, but I realized that I got a reply on my appeal to get the lyrics to the MORBID HUMOR song(s)"Oh my god" Pt. I+II. I got the lyrics from nobody but Nogsy (vocalist) himself!!! So I HAD TO listen to the ANTI-SYSTEM / MORBID HUMOR Split 7" again like I did so often during the last weeks. "Oh my god" is such an incredible good song and now that I have the lyrics it´s even better!
I´m going to upload it soon, okay?

Some demo recordings are so good that they have to be put on record (a lot of don´t though). PARLAMENTARISK SODOMI from Norway is a ONE man grindcore project in the vein of old PHOBIA or CATHETER. This album contains the 2006 and 2007 demos, well produced guts ripping grind with a radical, political message. I love the B-side with the 2007 demo best but decide for yourself. Don´t get me wrong, this is not just a low budget / bootleg styled CD / LP pressing. It has a glossy package and a VERY nice 10" booklet with all the Norwegian lyrics translated to English. The vinyl version of this killer album is limited to 300 copies and they are all handnumbered. You can buy it directly via the myspace profile if you are from Europe. Everywhere outside the EU you can buy it from Cylindrical Habitat Modules. I only paid 14 Euros including postage from Norway. That´s the price of some records here without any postage. That´s an awsome deal and definately a non-profit price! Go get your copy as long as you can. And yes, you can purchase a Cd version as well.
The first official studio album "De Anarkistiske An(n)aler" will be released in January 2009 on CRUCIFICADOS PEL SISTEMA Records and 625 THRASH followed by a split 7" with their fellow countrymen BLODSPRUT.

I´m so sorry, but I had to tag the songs with the English titles. The font that was used fo all the titles was so weired that I were not able to deceipher it and I don´t know any Norwegian at all. I´d love to tag the songs in their origin language!

CONFUSION - Civilization...?

I HAVE to post another extreme record to relativize all the soft rock music here ;-).
Here we have some obscure grind-/noisecore from Columbia. CONFUSIONs `Civilization...?´ flexi 7" is really noisy. If you like old school grind like FEAR OF GOD or very early NAPALM DEATH you´ll propably dig CONFUSION. Okay they didn´t know how to play well and the production was lousy too but somehow I find this record charming. Though released on legendary Japanese Grindcore label STANDARD OF REBELLION this flexi is pretty much diregarded anyway. CONFUSION were grinding their 15 songs almost trying to play as fast as they can. At least it sounds like this. It somehow conjures up a grin on my face when I listen to this record and read along their political lyrics which are kinda naive like a lot of other "political" hardcore / punk bands.
If somebody´s interested, I have another mint copy for trade. It´s very rare so don´t come up with some shit...!!!!
Give the flexi a listen. Grrrrrrind!!!

STRAIN - The Lost & Found Incident

I removed the 2 song Bootleg post by Strain because now that I got the "Bomb Wedemark CD" (image for this post taken from the cd tray) I read about how Lost and Found ripped off Strain with this 2 song Bootleg because of not asking the band the permission to release this.

So if you want to support the band (as also stated in the other Strain post) get their stuff through Heartfirst Records.

Beside ripping of Strain Lost and Found also released music from other bands without their knowledge (if interested read further in the comments of the Siege/Deep Wound Post) and made a lot of cash with that.So I don't want to support this kind of action through distributing something like this.

WOJCZECH - Sedimente

Everytime I listen to WOJCZECH I realize their potential but their ability always suffers from a very bad sound production. Someone told me that 2005 album `Sedimente´ is very good because of real good production. So I gave them another try and I was thrilled!! It sounds really good indeed!! Think of a mix of crust, modern, atmospheric D-Beat ala TRAGEDY or even FROM ASHES RISE and tons of CYNESS styled grindcore!! Sounds good? Yes it definately is!! The grind parts are played at maximum speed and the slower parts are real diversified and sometimes even melodic! WOJCZECH were always some kind of a mediocre split side band to me like UNHOLY GRAVE or AGATHOCLES (I guess some people are going to kill me now)because of their awful sound, but with this album they proved that they could play mayor league. Haha, I just read that they wrote on themself at their Myspace page: `dozens of sheer unlistenable split"7 / Lps´ concerning their discography. Fortunately this album stands out totally. Their recent release, the tour split 7" with CATHETER is one of their releases with a more dull production again. Pure grindcore on this new split 7". Not bad at all, but I advice you to check out this killer on Selfmade god records!!
In case you´re going to check their Myspace profile first: It doesn´t feature any song from this album at the moment. Just their mentioned weak releases!! So give this record a try anyway!

KNUCKLE SCRAPER - Demo-lition 2007

Here's another post for the ones liking the core more of being fucked up-fastcore-in your face-powerviolence-whatever before i post other more traditional sounding hardcore stuff again.
We will all agree that Knuckle Scraper really ripped it up.
Great dual attack vocals and guitar/bass destruction from these older dudes who also play in bands like Hatred Surge,Insect Warfare,Pretty Little Flower and Machine Gun Romantics.So this should give you an idea where we're heading here.
The band coming from Texas only existed for a year and is now defunct.
I got this demo from the great Little Balls Blog but I think the posting over there is doing this great demo not the actual justice it deservs.
